Facilitated by Dr. Victoria Rodriguez

Your body has different needs. Why should your brain be any different?

Whether you’re recovering from a long hospital stay or managing a chronic illness, navigating medical systems can be overwhelming to your sensory needs and leave you feeling exhausted and hopeless.

Being sick is harder for you than others.

You probably know that your neurodivergence is related to a number of physical health issues including….

➯ Dysautonomia/POTS

➯ Hypermobility/Ehlers Danlos Syndrome

➯ Chronic Pain / Chronic Fatigue

➯ Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

➯ Gastrointestinal (GI) Symptoms.

➯ Sleep Disorders

But there are also certain medical experiences that can make it more difficult for you to recover physically and emotionally.…

➯ You feel overstimulated by bright florescent lights or the loud noises of medical equipment

➯ You mask through medical appointments, unsure of the expectations and not wanting to be dismissed

➯ Your executive functioning issues make it difficult to follow up with referrals or remember medications

➯ You can’t stop hyper fixating on each new sensation, worrying that you’ve missed something

Therapy can help you feel safe in your body

Neurodivegent affirming counseling that understands your body’s unique medical needs

Hi, I’m Dr. Victoria Rodriguez (she/her), and I help teens and adults just like you find tools to cope with chronic illness and medical trauma.

Painful and scary medical experiences can make it difficult to connect others and even to yourself. If you’re Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD, not only are you more likely to experience a number of health issues, but it can be even more difficult for you to find comfort after a medical scare.

Through online therapy, we will explore the coping tools you’ll need to care for mind and your body in a way that feels authentic to your sensory needs. Whether you’re managing multiple diseases or you’re still trying to figure out a mystery illness, we work to help you to feel safe in your body.
